Curtain process for made to measure curtains

Have you ever wondered how to choose what fabrics would work best for a cottage or what curtain header would work in your kitchen on bifold doors for your made to measure curtains? I’m a curtain maker based in Monmouthshire, making curtains in Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Usk, Raglan just to name a few. Every house varies in style, size and shape. From fiddly 17th century farmhouse windows to modern renovated kitchen extensions, alongside my fitter, who has years of experience, together we can help come up with solutions. I have a background in textiles and lots of knowledge to impart when it comes to fabric content, style and colour choices. My fitter is very technical and is great at coming up with solutions to tricky window shapes and window treatments that will do the job best. When it comes to modern window treatments it can be a good idea to use a ceiling fitted track over a bifold door for instance and this can be complimented by a wave header. If on the other hand, you may have a 300 year old cottage with small windows, a cottage header can work really well to compliment the authenticity of the wonky walls and beams. Colours like ochre can add to the warmth of a room and a thin metal pole with curl finials or basket finials can further enhance the look. Whereas for a modern, contemporary appearance you may want to use a plain linen or a sheer linen and a simple header like a single pleat or a wave. For a more opulent look I would recommend interlined curtains. As well as adding warmth they also give an elegant finish. I’m here to help guide you through the whole process.
