How to Choose a Header that’s right for you…

Take a peek at our ideas, here are some helpful suggestions to consider when matching the header to your windows and personal style.

Flat Pleat.

The flat pleat has a beautiful bespoke look but without the more dainty feel of a pinch pleat. It’s made in the same way as a pinch pleat but you don’t ‘pinch’ it in you leave it as a plain pleat. Works really well if you want a refined look with less detail.

Pencil Pleat.

The most basic of the headers. Simple and neat, a tape is topstitched to the curtain and gathered in. The advantage of the pencil pleat is that the tape has three pockets/levels which means you can adjust the height of them yourself and cover part of the pole if you wish to.

Double Pinch Pleat.

One of the most popular choices because it’s classical and elegant and stacks back neatly. The pinch pleat has more of a bespoke look than a pencil pleat because you can’t find it on the high street. Sits just under the pole to allow the pleats to stack neatly underneath.

Triple Pinch pleat.

Much like the double pinch pleat but more detailed and decorative.

Wave Header.

If you’re after an elegant, minimal, hotel feel then this is the one for you! It’s designed for a track so glides with a smooth open. You can choose to have them on a track that looks like a pole or fitted with standard tracks.

Cottage Header.

If you’re after a softer, more cosy feel or you live in a period property and you want to accent the ‘cottage’ feel a cottage header is a lovely way to play up to that. A stripe like this ticking can further accentuate the mood.

Flop over.

If you’re looking for a playful, sumptuous curtain that shows off the fabric and adds warmth, a flop over curtain can look really distinguished. Particularly suited to doors as a one off statement piece. If you choose to have it pooled at the hem like this it also acts as a great draft excluder!

All the curtains are available as lined (one layer of cotton lining) or interlined. Interlining gives a thick, opulent appearance, as well as adding warmth as it’s a thermal layer.
