Services.

  • Choose Your Material

You may have already seen some material you like, which is great, if you’d like to run it past me I’m very happy to help, I also have some lovely samples we can look through together or I can point you in the right direction. If you want more in depth assistance I offer a design service for a small extra fee. It’s worth having a think about the kind of look you’d like, whether it’s something natural and elegant like a linen , a colourful pattern or a classic stripe.

  • Decide on a Header

These can range from a simple pencil pleat (gathered using a tape) to a triple pinch pleat. See below images for options.

  • Choose a lining

Unlined is the most basic, affordable option. More suited to a transparent style using linen or something similar.

Lined is the most popular, this offers more weight and stability to the curtain. You can chose from a blackout (more common for bedrooms) or a basic ivory premium cotton lining that I stock. Or chose your own from elsewhere.

Interlining offers a real luxury finish that keeps the home warm and cosy and gives a delicious look and feel.

  • Fitting

Whether you already have a pole in place or you want some advice on fitting a new pole I have pole samples I can show you and an experienced fitter who can come out and fit it. If you are using your own pole I will come out and fit the curtains for you unless you want to hang them yourself.

  • Restoration and Repairs

If you have something special in mind we can talk through ideas, like restoring old materials or curtains you’ve had in the family for a long time. Say they’re rotten in parts, I work to repair them or focus on some of the pieces that are more intact and use these to create something new, on a new background material

  • Rails

I provide the whole service from start to finish including a choice of rails and fitting them. Whether you’d like a ceiling or wall mounted track rail or you’d like a wooden or metal pole. I have an assortment of finishes, washes and colours, plus a choice of finials, plain or bespoke.

Roman Blinds

  • Measure up

I will come and measure for you or I can give you instructions on how to measure the window and send me a picture for an initial quote. You can chose to have it placed on the outside of the window or sitting inside the recess.

  • Roman Blind materials

All our blinds are hand sewn from start to finish and have a thin interlining in them to make the folds sit beautifully and to add some warmth. Chose from a thick densely woven material like this one or a more open weave linen look. The amount of folds depends on the window size or the look you like. I can help you chose materials or show me something you have in mind and I’ll let you know if it will work.

  • Fit the blind

    Fit the blind

I provide the Roman blind ready to fit, which you can chose to do yourself or I have an experienced fitter who can fit it for you. All blinds are made following child safety criteria.

Curtain Headers

  • Basic/Pencil Pleat

The most affordable, simple option. Curtains gets gathered in on a gathering tape and adjusted to fit pole length.

  • Double Pinch Pleat

A more detailed look, has a stiffened appearance at the top where the pleats sit.

  • Triple Pinch Pleat

Similar to a double pinch pleat but with a bit more detail.

  • Single Pinch Pleat

A straight plain pleat, as it would look before you pinch it in to create a double or triple pinch pleat. A more clean, simple aesthetic. Shown here on my studio table prior to hanging.

  • Inverted Box Pleat

    Inverted Box Pleat

A more bespoke, simple look. Can be made with or without stiffener. The pleats sit on the back, not visible. You can chose to have them sitting on the front so they are visible if you prefer this look.

  • Fold Over

Another more bespoke idea, a softer look, folding over on itself. Looks lovely for a door curtain.

Bespoke

  • Borders

Let me know if you have something unusual in mind. Either making a border from an existing piece of material you love or printing a new design. I can make them sit on the edge, vertically, or on the hem. You chose or we can decide together.

  • Appliqué

Hand sewn pieces of material in your colour choices and shapes or I can design it for you.

  • Hand Printed

I have experience with block printing so if you’d like something we can talk about what’s possible.

I offer a Design Service

If there is something you need help with in more detail or you want to hand over the material and colour choices you can hand them over to me. For an extra fee I can come to you and we look at the paint colours, soft furnishings and interiors you have in the space and consider what fabrics work and whether curtains or blinds will suit the space more. I also offer help with hospitality spaces.
